Respecting Human Rights

Our Commitment

We are committed to respecting internationally recognized human rights as expressed in the United Nations’ International Bill of Human Rights, the principles in the International Labor Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, and, at a minimum, the laws of the countries in which HARMAN operates.

Why It Matters

At HARMAN, we recognize that our activities and business operations may have human rights impacts on our employees, the stakeholders with whom we interact and the communities in which we operate. Respect for human rights plays a vital role in the sustainable development of our organization. We take seriously any efforts to eradicate slavery and human trafficking. We can do so using our Human Rights Policy and the Supplier Code of Conduct.

How We Respect Human Rights

  • Provide training on human rights to our employees.
  • Assess the potential human rights impact of our activities and provide access to remediation.
  • Report suspected human rights violations.
  • Ensure our suppliers are committed to fair labor and sustainable sourcing practices.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders on business and human rights topics.
